Blepharoplasty
or eyelid surgery

For more youthful, rested eyes

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid redraping or eyelid “lift”, is a surgical procedure designed to give your eyes a more youthful, toned and rested appearance.

It involves treating excess skin and/or fatty bags on the eyelids:

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty

  • Swollen or drooping upper eyelids

  • Excess skin on the upper eyelid, sometimes affecting the eyelashes

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty

  • Pockets under the eyes

  • Excess skin and fine wrinkles on the lower eyelids

  • Drooping appearance of the lower eyelid

With blepharoplasty, say goodbye to sagging eyelids, dark circles, puffy eyes, bags and fine lines.

Regain the radiance of your natural look.

Blepharoplasty in 4 steps

1

PRE-OPERATIVE CONSULTATION
The purpose of this initial meeting is to determine whether the operation is feasible and whether the expected results would meet your wishes.

There are three main components to this consultation:
- A discussion to better define your expectations;
- An examination of your face to determine the modalities of the procedure and ensure the most natural result possible;
- An assessment of your general state of health and medical history.

Please note: you will be asked to fill in an online form beforehand, so that we can prepare your appointment in the best possible way.

BEFORE THE OPERATION
Following the pre-operative consultation, you will receive a package of written instructions to ensure that your operation takes place in the best possible conditions, both before and after (e.g. avoid taking any medication that might thin the blood, do not arrive wearing make-up, make arrangements for a ride home after the operation, etc.).

THE DAY OF THE OPERATION
When you arrive at the operating room, you will be greeted by a nurse who will guide you through the preparations.
Dr. Khouri will draw the surgical plan on your eyelids before placing you on the operating table.
A local anaesthetic will be administered to the skin of the eyelids, and a venous line will be set up to give you medication to relax you, as well as painkillers.

The operation lasts about 1 hour and is painless; you won't feel or see anything.

POST-OPERATIVE FOLLOW-UP

A meeting is scheduled 7 to 10 days after the procedure to adjust post-operative treatments and ensure that you are healing properly. Stitches are absorbable, so removal is not necessary. The post-operative follow-up also aims to answer any questions you may have, share our recommendations and ensure your general well-being.

You will then be taken to the recovery room, where you will be monitored for 30 minutes or more, if necessary.

Ice compresses will be applied to your eyelids, and we'll take this opportunity to go over our recovery instructions with you.
