A filling or volumizing agent is made up of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the human body, which helps to hydrate the skin. Over time, however, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin diminishes, causing sagging wrinkles and dryness.

It is mainly used to restore lost facial volume, plump lips and improve facial proportions.

Dermal fillers and neuromodulators are both injectable products for the face. However, they do not have the same composition, nor the same function:

• The filling agent compensates for the reduction in our body's natural production of hyaluronic acid. Injecting it will provide volume and a “lift” to the targeted area. It is therefore mainly used on the lower part of the face.

• A neuromodulator is a muscle relaxant that relaxes the muscles responsible for expression lines. It is therefore generally used on the upper part of the face. The best-known is botulinum toxin, marketed under the brand name Botox®. Other botulinum toxins are available on the market, and our injection experts can explain the differences and the best choice for you.

Hyaluronic acid injections are available for both men and women, with no age limit. This depends, among other things, on individual needs.

Anyone can benefit from this treatment, provided there are no medical contraindications.

The duration of the effects varies according to a number of factors, but generally, results are visible for a year.

To maintain the same results, we recommend a touch-up after 6-8 months to avoid starting the treatment from scratch.

The first effects can be seen almost immediately. The results improve with time: after the first week, the result is already visible, and after a month, a beautiful natural effect is obtained.

This treatment is more uncomfortable than painful, the sensation being similar to that of a brief pinch. What's more, most dermal fillers contain lidocaine, which has an anaesthetic effect.
